The North Central Texas Counseling Association (Chapter of TCA) is dedicated to providing leadership, advocacy and education to promote the growth and development of the counseling profession and those who are served.
Professional educational and private counselors work with individuals and families to guide their academic, career, personal and emotional growth and well-being.
Dear NCTCA Members:
Welcome to NCTCA for the 2010-11 year! I am excited to be serving as your President! This is a legislative year and this always creates opportunities for each of us to become more involved with constant and emerging issues that impact our profession. Counselors will have three separate days to go to Austin to advocate for current issues affecting our profession and make our voices heard in order to move our profession forward.
My first goal of the year is to increase knowledge of issues that will affect each of us in the counseling profession. NCTCA has developed a series of programs that will provide each of us with the opportunity to increase our skills and develop an awareness of impending issues. These programs will also provide a great way to network and earn LPC credit. Our website is a continued source of information and is essential in providing awareness and knowledge to each of us. We live in an increasingly technical world and our communication has come to rely on technology. NCTCA’s website is becoming our first line of communication with one another as well as the world in general. It is an excellent line of communication for each of you to communicate with the organization. It also provides links to other sites of interest.
My second goal is to strengthen our professional identity within the community. Through our community service programs we can continue to develop our unity within our profession and enhance community awareness of the counseling profession. At our first meeting, we will discuss ways for each of us to become more involved in community projects.
My third goal is to provide each counselor with the opportunity to grow within their profession. we can accomplish this goal by continuing to strive to increase our membership and by broadening our professional unity. NCTCA provides members with the opportunity to network, develop professionally, and enjoy fellowship opportunities with other counselors. Again, I am excited to be your President and anticipate a great year for NCTCA!
